Our Vegetable & Starter Plants ~
We start our own Vegetable plants from seed in pellets made from peat moss.
This method disturbs the roots less and ensures a faster start off when planted
because the plant send energy to growing instead of repairing roots that were
broken in transplanting from a pot. Although some things have to be planted in
a 4 x 4, pot due to its seed size. Herbs and flowering plants or ferns are usually
planted in pots or hanging baskets/pots. We use fish emulsion as our main
fertilizer and a broadcast type that will not burn the plants through out the season.
Plant types and availability will be listed as season permits. In addition, large orders
for starter plants with a list of types offered may be ordered in advanced with date
desired for your convenience.
We use our greenhouse to grow tomatoes, squash, peppers and cucumbers in the
winter months. Plants are grown in the ground and not gassed, but naturally grown
by controlling the temperature. In the summer months we use the greenhouse to keep
greens and lettuces from getting to hot by cooling the temperature.
